thegloomygirlwhosighsalot asked: Hey Zuko, how have you been? How's being firelord? I've missed you so much!
Its been alright, I’ve just been very busy, please don’t think i’ve been ignoring you. I’ve just been going through a lot of changes. Its weird what happens when so many of your inner turmoils get resolved yet, not the way you want them too.

brykespaisho-pro asked: Hey Hot head. How's being firelord?
Its scary at times. The Fire Nation has given themselves a terrible reputation in the past hundred years, and that’s not changing over night. I was lucky to be let into Ba Sing Se and even that almost ended in war. Thanks to Aang, they let me in to see my uncle. How are things with you? I heard you opened up a school?

Zuko, you must look within yourself to save yourself from your other self. Only then will your true self reveal itself.
– What Uncle Iroh would say. -
At the Jasmine Dragon: Mai and Sokka →
Mai got bored after being alone in her earth kingdom home for the past couple of days. So she decided to go to The Jasmine Dragon tea shop where most of “Team Avatar” hung out. She saw the guy with the boomerang that Ty Lee and her had to fight so she decided to talk to him. She didn’t really know him well. “Hey, how have you guys been?” she ended up saying, she didn’t really know what to talk about except that she had no idea where Zuko disappeared to.
“Hmm?” Sokka said, mouth full of noodles he had bought and brought into the shop. He looked up and saw Mai. Wasn’t she Zuko’s knife-crazy girlfriend? He quickly slurped down the remaining noodles and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Hey. Uh, nothing much. You know, I’ve been wanting everybody to get back together for awhile, but everybody’s busy evidently. So, you been good?” he said, trying to be cordial. He knew that she was a “good guy” now, being Zuko’s lover and whatnot, but it was still hard to forget all the times she fought the Gaang.
“Yeah I’ve been good. I’m sorry for all the times me and Ty Lee have attacked you, your sister and Aang. They were Azula’s orders and I had it with her crap.” Mai said hoping the gaang would understand that she wouldn’t hurt them anymore. “And Zuko likes you guys so you can’t be that bad.” Mai said with a little bit of laughter.
Sokka gaped at her. “You just laughed,” he said. Even in the short times he’d met her, she always had this ‘I don’t give a damn’ air about her.
Gathering yourself after a shock was never one of Sokka’s strong points. He usually wore his emotions on his sleeve, and had a hard time putting them back. So he just looked at Mai with a rather dumb expression on his face, trying to pull himself together.
“Uhh, yeah. I mean, Zuko and I are good buddies. We went to the Boili-” he cut off, remembering how she was there at that debacle and what feelings she must have about it.
“Well here are two faces I would not expect to see together in conversation!” Iroh quickly stepped in, feeling the awkwardness between the two teens. “I hope you are enjoying yourself here, Sokka. And Mai, I was not aware that you were in the city at all, let alone in the lower ring with us refugees!” Iroh chuckled goodheartledly. “Is there anything I can get for either of you today?”
Mai laughed “It got boring in the upper ring, so I decided to go to the lower ring to try some of your amazing tea.” she said remembering Zuko’s funny uncle. This was probably where he used to work when he ran into Jet.
“I am flattered you think of my tea so highly, my dear. And it is such a delight to see you smiling. Surely it is not in opposition with the current company.” Iroh gave Sokka a knowing wink. “And, speaking of the company, Sokka, you may want to close your mouth. It could be considered rude to keep your jaw flapping in the wind.” Iroh chuckled as Sokka looked at him with a blank expression.
“you’re welcome” Mai said with a chuckle “Have you seen Zuko around?” Mai asked with a puzzled look “I haven’t seen him in a long time and I didn’t know if you knew where he was.” It seemed weird without Zuko.
“I know he is busy in the Fire Nation, however he had made me a promise to come visit me.” Iroh looked meaningfully at Mai, “And my nephew is not one to break a promise. You needn’t be worried”
Having heard his uncle’s last remark, Zuko stepped in. “Not to busy to grab a cup of the best tea in Ba Sing Se” Having been the first time Zuko stepped foot in the Jasmine Dragon Since he became Fire Lord, he was strangely humbled by the sight of his uncle. “How are you, Old Man?” He asked his beloved uncle while holding back tears of joy from finally seeing him again.
Mai had finally seen her boyfriend who she hasn’t seen in a long time, she was trying to hold back her tears. “Zuko!” Mai said hugging him “how have you been? I’ve missed you!” her tears of joy came with a smile.
Iroh stood back and watched Mai and Zuko’s reunion, seeing true happiness in Mai’s face for one of the first times since her childhood. “Ah, young love” he murmured as he stood looking at his beloved nephew and the joy on his face to be back with his friends.
“Sorry to have been in absence for so long” Zuko said with much warmth in his tone. “Its been a very difficult task, Cleaning up after my Father’s mistakes. Avatar Aang and I have been working day in day out to get this done, But his corruption sees no end.” Takes a seat near the counter. Slowly picks up a tea leaf off the floor, reminiscing on the days in which he would wake at the crack of dawn with his uncle to open up for the people of Ba Sing Se in the morning. “I’ve actually come for some advice Uncle. People are still scared of the Fire Nation. Terrified! How do we remedy an affliction that’s been building up for almost a century?”
“Ah, I do not have all of the answers, my nephew. But what I do know is that fear is something that takes a second to develop and a lifetime to unravel. Do not be discouraged” Iroh said as he saw the disappointment and anger in his nephews face. “What you are doing is working wonders, and I am immensely proud of you” Iroh held out his hands as Zuko stood up and walked into his uncle’s arms. “Words cannot describe how proud I am of what you have done for our nation, and for yourself” Iroh said softly to his nephew.
“I could not have done it without the guiding hand of a loving uncle” Zuko embraces his uncle a little tighter. Noticing that people around the tea shop started looking, he quickly brushes it off. “Anyway, how about a delectable cup of hot leaf juice for your nephew? I need the calming serenity of some tea.”
